Beachwalk
Kamogawa City to Amatsu, Japan

Amatsu is the next small town about 2km north of Kamogawa City.
These pictures were taken when I walked the beach from my apartment in Kamogawa
City to the lighthouse in Amatsu. The first item of interest is right at
the end of the path to the beach. It is a sign warning surfers of ocean
turtles!
Once on the beach there is a good view of the
Kamogawa Grand Tower (where I was staying) and its sister hotel the Kamogawa
Grand Hotel.
This pictures shows the route that I plan on
walking. Amatsu can be seen in the distance.
Even though it was only
about 40 degrees F outside, there were still kids playing on the beach.
Walking towards Amatsu I
passed Kamogawa Sea World (pictures of Sea World will be on another web page)
and approached this beachside hotel called The Royal Hotel.
Due to flooding concerns and development along
the beach, most of the streams are enclosed in concrete here.
Just a short distance
north of my apartment is the major hotel for this area. Nice to know that
it is there if needed!
Continuing on towards
Amatsu another beachside hotel comes into view.
Surfing is very
popular in Japan. Even in January with the temperature ranging from 35-40
degrees F.!
